People have been sailing at Siblyback Lake for around 40 years. It is a popular inland waterway for dinghies and is a great place for new sailors and children to learn.

Sailing lessons at Siblyback Lake |
A number of sailing events have taken place at the lake over the years including the Feva Frenzy where young sailors from all over Devon and Cornwall competed in a day of racing.

As well as organised events, South West Lakes Trust used to offer sailing lessons and the lake was used by many people with their own boats, such as Mirror Dinghies, Toppers, Picos and Optimists.

Following the decision by South West Lakes Trust to close the Outdoor and Active Centre in 2019, it will no longer be possible to turn up and sail on the lake as in previous years. No sailing boat hire or lessons will be available either.
